How Do You Make Travel Workouts Actually Happen?

Sunrise Cayman Brac

How do you make travel workouts actually happen? I think the biggest key is to make it SUPER SIMPLE. Try setting a goal like this: do 10 minutes of band exercises, not a full 60 minute workout. Here’s what I do: we take a couple bands and a door anchor when we travel. We were just on our Honeymoon this month in Cayman Brac. One morning we drove out to the lighthouse to watch the sunrise and took our bands with us. We used a sign post to hook the bands around, and then there was a platform next to the lighthouse that was perfect for leg exercises. There was also a picnic table we used for dips and push ups. Relax and have fun, pick exercises that you can remember and do 1 or 2 sets of whatever reps you want (8, 10, 12, or 15). Here are some examples of what we did in photos below:

The most important thing is to enjoy yourself and relax about what you do for the exercises. Just make them up as you go. Let it be fun! Because when you take the pressure off, you are more likely to do the workout and it becomes something that feels good!

  1. These are great photos! Working out on the beach! Whoo hoo! Everyone should be so lucky.
Thanks for the demo. It will help orient me to what is possibly while I am away, too.
