1. I have a clear idea of my fitness goals and I know why they are important to me.
2. I realize that I must take action now towards achieving my goals.
3. I need assistance in knowing what to do that will best help me achieve my goals.
4. I can rely on my trainer to hold me accountable, but ultimately I know I must hold myself accountable for my actions.
5. I know that I must do the work it will take to achieve my goals, no one else can do it for me.
6. I take full responsibility for my actions and will not blame circumstances or others for my lack of action.
7. I realize that I may need help during my work with my trainer and I feel comfortable asking my trainer for help when I am struggling or stuck.
8. I understand that I might need the assistance of other professionals while working towards my goals, and will actively pursue this additional help (ex, dietician, therapist, doctor, physical therapist, etc).
9. I am willing to change my schedule in order to make exercise a part of my daily routine, even if that means getting up earlier, exercising during my lunch hour, or watching less TV.
10. I will make time to eat healthy and frequently, this may include: preparing food for the week on Sundays, making lunches the night before, shopping and planning meals and snacks in advance, etc.
11. I am willing to eat at home more than I eat out at restaurants.
12. My health and well being is worth every penny I will spend on personal training, fitness equipment, and or shoes.
13. I know that changes won't happen overnight, but that my success depends on my willingness to commit to my new fitness plan for the rest of my life.
14. I expect to experience ups and downs during my fitness program, but I will stick with it during the challenging times and celebrate my victories.
15. I can be relied upon to keep my appointment times and my word on what I say I will do.
16. I am willing to stop, or change the self defeating behaviors which hold me back from reaching my goals.
17. I recognize the importance of making changes in my health and I won't be obsessed with only my outer physical changes.
